Shopping Lanvin for H&M

Today was the day that the Lanvin for H&M diffusion collection hit select H&M stores globally. As you may know, I was coveting a few of the pieces from this collection so I woke up at the crack of dawn early this morning and made my way down to H&M here in Toronto. I got there about an hour and fifteen minutes before the store opened and there was already a substantial line up, with some people camping out from the night before.

I got my place in line and luckily I wasn't too far back from the door. Standing in line with a bunch of fashion hungry fashionistas isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I always find it exciting and invigorating to shop these H&M designer diffusion collections. I especially love to watch everyone hectically rush to the racks of designer luxury with hopes of getting a piece (or pieces) from the collection that they'll love and rock out over the season. With a little strategy and persistence, I managed to score a couple of jackets and a couple of pairs of shoes. I was all about shopping for basic key pieces from this collection and I'm LOVING the items I was fortunate enough to get my hands on! How about you, did you get anything from this collection?

Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2011 Footwear

This is a peek at what's to come from Maison Martin Margiela for Spring/Summer 2011. I LOVE these high-tops and they are simply GORGE!!!! The construction is impeccable and I love the modern and minimal aesthetic of this footwear offering. Maison Martin Margiela never disappoints and I'm pleased to see that the Martin Margiela legacy continues to provoke thought and to challenge design standards.

Pics: Food Network Canada 10th Anniversary Party

Earlier this week, I attended the Food Network Canada's 10th Anniversary party and had the opportunity to mix, mingle and meet some of the network's celebrities! It was definitely one of the best parties I've been to this year and I was completely starstruck the whole evening. All of the stars that I met were totally down-to-earth and endearing. Check out my pics below!

Lanvin for H&M: Men's Lookbook

This is the official men's lookbook for the Lanvin and H&M diffusion collection. I'm loving all of the trousers, shoes and sunglasses from this collection and I'm definitely going to try to pick up as many of these pieces as I can. Select H&M stores worldwide are going to be madhouses full of fashionistas, collectors and ebay sellers on November 23rd. I'm predicting that all of the shirts, shoes and jackets will sell out first because these are the most versatile pieces from this line...

Video: Lanvin for H&M

My latest piece for slice.ca...

It’s that time of year again – designer diffusion line time at H&M! I look forward to H&M's designer collaborations each year because they give everyday people (like yours truly) the opportunity to own a piece of luxury without having to pay ridiculously exorbitant luxury prices.

My secret to shopping these collections is to look for timeless signature key pieces (such as a blouse, little black dress, or pants) that you can mix and match with other pieces already in your wardrobe and that you'll want to wear for a few seasons. Accessories from these collections are great investments too because they can easily add interest to any outfit and effortlessly step up your look.

Some of the designers that have collaborated with H&M previously include: Karl Lagerfeld, Viktor and Rolf, Comme Des Garcons, Roberto Cavalli, and Stella McCartney. This year, we get to drool over and covet luxurious avante-garde pieces from French atelier, Lanvin. Alber Elbaz (artistic director of Lanvin) has single-handedly transformed the Paris-based label into a fashion trendsetting powerhouse (similar to what Tom Ford did for Gucci) and his fashion forward design vision will bless select H&M stores globally on November 23. We can expect exquisitely tailored pieces made from beautiful luxe fabrics with lots of feminine charm and flair.

Earlier this week, we got a peek at the highly anticipated collection through this official video which features a number of key looks from the collection. I love the presentation of this diffusion line via this short film format and it definitely takes the concept of a fashion show to the next level. I can't wait to see these pieces in person! Check it out below.
