Sony PSP Go

Images of the new Sony PSP Go were leaked just before Sony's official announcement for the hand held console at the E3 Convention. Some of the new PSP Go features include a 3.8 inch display, 16GB of built-in flash storage, built-in Bluetooth, no UMD drive and full integration with the PS3. Sony is definitely ahead of the gaming pack with their stylish and high quality products. The slide out controller is innovative and it totally makes the PSP Go appear less like a console and more like a portable display. It hits stores this Fall.

Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel '09

This is the re-release of Paul Van Dyk's classic trance anthem "For An Angel." I LOVED this track the first time around and am LOVING it even more the second time around! Paul Van Dyk has definitely impacted, influenced, and changed the face of dance music and this video accurately depicts the energy and positivity that surrounds and follows Paul Van Dyk whenever he plays. I have seen him a couple of times and if you get the chance to see him perform I highly recommend it - you won't be disappointed!

Lady Gaga Paparazzi Video Leak

This is the new music video by Lady Gaga that was apparently leaked to the net. Directed by Jonas Akerlund (famous for directing Madonna's "Ray of Light" video), this video reminds me of music videos from the '80s and early '90s when videos told a story and were like mini films or film shorts. Lady Gaga is a true performer and artist and once again she pushes the envelope with this edgy and visually stunning video. I love the styling and all of the looks throughout this video. Gaga has truly topped herself once again! Check it!

Kate Moss for Topshop Summer '09

My latest piece for slice.ca...

I was searching through some summer collections for inspiration and I came across the most recent collaboration between Kate Moss and Topshop. Kate Moss' latest summer collection for Topshop (see below) is inspired by her summer travels and the richly textured and embellished pieces make for the perfect summer wardrobe.

Short tunic tees, glamourous maxi dresses, strapless dresses, halter neck dresses, blouses, vests, shorts, jeans, hotpants, and bikinis endow this collection with a variety of looks to choose from and they provide for a simple and effortless elegance. Beadwork, studs, fringe, sequins and bold prints combined with chunky gold necklaces, hoop earrings and lots of bangles work together to create an exotic feel to the collection. The primary fabrics found in this collection are silk, chiffon, jersey and denim and these light weight textiles are perfect for those hot summer days. I love all of the printed dresses and the beautiful embellishments.

This is Kate's tenth collection for Topshop and it definitely has something for everyone. The versatility of these pieces makes it easy to dress them up for an evening look and dress them down for a day look. Summer wardrobes should be low maintenance, cool, practical and stylish all at the same time and Kate Moss has successfully addressed these qualities with this collection!

Audrey Tautou for Chanel No.5

My most recent piece for slice.ca...

As I was catching up on my weekly fashion news, I came across this new short film/commercial for the Chanel No.5 fragrance starring Audrey Tautou (Amélie, The Da Vinci Code, Dirty Pretty Things) and Rodrigo Santoro (see it below). Known for selecting celebrities with their own personal style to star in their ad campaigns, Chanel has replaced Nicole Kidman with Audrey Tautou and I think that this is a perfect fit for their leading perfume. Audrey naturally exudes a simple elegance and self-confidence that is characterisitc of the Chanel No.5 woman. The film was directed by Amélie's Jean-Pierre Jeunet and it follows Tautou on a luxurious Orient Express type excursion from Paris to Istanbul. She encounters Rodrigo Santoro on her journey and Chanel No.5 brings these two strangers together.

I love the simplicity and fairy tale romanticism behind this film and Audrey Tautou gives a convincing and compelling performance - I'm dying to know what happens next?!!! The styling and cinematography is stunning, breathtaking and inspirational. We instantly identify with her character and are able to live vicariously through her character for two minutes and twenty seconds. Audrey is definitely more relatable and personable than Nicole Kidman was (see the Nicole Kidman for Chanel No.5 short film below) and this advert will definitely inspire many railroad excursions with Chanel No.5 lingering in the air!
