MAC's Hello Kitty Extravaganza

Last week, Beauty Buff and I made our way to the Toronto Eaton Centre to check out a special Hello Kitty themed event that was held to celebrate the launch of the new M.A.C makeup collaboration with Hello Kitty. M.A.C advertising campaigns are always sexy, innovative, provocative, and cutting edge and after watching the Alice in Wonderland inspired promotional video (see below) I was intrigued and excited to see how this event would expand upon the creativity of the video and how the muscled kitty men would translate in person...





The entire MAC store was transformed into a Hello Kitty extravaganza and the trademark kitten was seen all over the store from the collection's lipsticks, lipglasses, eye shadows, powders, nail polishes, makeup bags, pocket mirrors and plush dolls to special Hello Kitty shopping bags that were given with each purchase of Hello Kitty product. I felt as if I'd died and arrived at Hello Kitty heaven! Visitors to this event were treated with cute Hello Kitty tattoos and they could have their pictures taken with the finely chiseled half naked PVC-clad kitty man that was on hand to give out Hello Kitty shaped balloons and to provide some pre-Valentine's Day heat to the event. Shoppers in attendance were definitely excited to be a part of this Hello Kitty beauty event and even more excited to acquire some of the new products, as I saw girls flock to the displays and ultimately many products found their way to the registers. Everything about this event was in line with the M.A.C aesthetic - beautiful, fabulous, fashionable, sexy, and ultra glamorous!
