Lady Gaga - Toronto 11/30/2008

I saw Lady Gaga perform here in Toronto the other night at Circa nightclub. As this was a club performance/PA, she only performed for 30 minutes and the show was basically one big medley or megamix of her hits and potential singles from her album. It was refreshing to see her in an intimate environment, although Circa, the venue, is not conducive to concert live performances as the layout of the venue is too obtrusive and junky. Perhaps that's why it was a brief half hour set. I was over it before the show even started due to the constant battle of having to weave through the crowd and the inability to properly see the stage.

Lady Gaga's performance was definitely FIERCE, innovative, creative, visionary, intimate, engaging and performance art - it's too bad that many of the people there, including myself, did not get to fully enjoy her show. The highlights for me of her performance were the incorporation of her self-made props into her performance (her disco stick - a stick with a disco ball light, and the infamous sunglasses that flash LED words) and the rapport that she had with her fans. There were many hardcore fans in attendance and I am glad that she did not disappoint them in any way and she even signed autographs for them during her performance!

Lady Gaga has class, style, ferocity, and she is a talented performer who moves beyond traditional pop acts by embodying pop and artistry in all respects. Thanks to Youtube and a hardcore fan - you can view the concert above to get a feel for the Gaga madness that went down that night!

Hey! Thanks so much! I'm actually KawaiiRae, and these are my videos!

I totally agree with your post! It was an amazing performance! and she even singed my CD! I was in shock for words, all I was doing was screaming! haha. I've never been this lucky! I waited in line for over 4 hours in the rain and cold, and it was totally worth it!! To actually see her that close; it was insane!

The atmosphere in there was indescribable, there was soo much energy, and Lady Gaga kept everyone pumped up!

It was cool when she wrote the "I <3 U", everyone went crazy!

I'm going to Thornhill Mall to see her again, on Dec 15th I think. :)

Thanks for using my videos!

Hi Sara!

Thank you for your comment and thank you so so so much for posting your videos! I am SO GLAD that she signed your cd and that she was nice as sometimes celebrities can be assholes and bitches. I was stuck in the middle of the crowd and I saw most of the show, but it was great to have your perspective from the front row!

The atmosphere and energy was amazing that night and I really loved how we were all there because we love Lady Gaga and her music!

Hope that she is even more amazing and that you get to meet her at Thornhill! All the best to you Sara!!!! :-)

Here is the original press release for that appearance - keep in mind that the new date is December the 15th :

DIESEL presents

StyleXchange New Store Launch

featuring Lady GaGa

Canadian-based fashion boutique chain, StyleXchange launches

its 7th location in Canada and in style with fashion, music & a great cause

November 18, 2008, Toronto, ON – Announced today, Montréal-based fashion chain StyleXchange will open its seventh location nationally hitting a milestone in Canadian fashion. Opening on December 1, 2008, the launch marks the 8th year anniversary for StyleXchange celebrating with Diesel Clothing, ONEXONE and international superstar artist and fashion icon, Lady GaGa.

Twenty-eight year-old entrepreneur, and founder, Mark Batchoun sees this launch as a much-needed addition to the StyleXchange family, "Our Montréal stores have done enormously well in the Québec market. The Yonge Street store has successfully built up a reputation as the iconic 'go-to' destination within the right fashionista circles in Toronto. Launching a second Ontario location at Promenade Shopping Centre was a no brainer."

Matthew Flemming, Regional Director, speaks of the current market, "Even with the situation in the U.S., with the success of our Yonge Street StyleXchange store, we've had a huge demand from shoppers north of the city for cutting-edge fashion. There just isn't another store out there that offers such an assortment of trend-setting apparel."

Not only celebrating fashion and music, the StyleXchange new store launch will celebrate a great cause: ONEXONE, a Canadian charity making a big difference in the lives of children globally. 10% of the launch week's sales will be donated to ONEXONE. Batchoun consistently looks to give back whenever he can, "With Diesel's longstanding relationship with ONEXONE, this organization was immediately our charity of choice. They are committed to supporting, preserving and improving the lives of children at home and around the world, something I truly support."

Fashionistas, urbanites, and music fans alike will want to catch a glimpse of the new store launch on December 1, 2008 between 1PM-4PM. During this time, the public will have the opportunity to meet and greet with Mark, Matt and personal fashion consultants, and attend a live appearance and autograph signing by Lady GaGa. Media and VIP are invited to attend an exclusive reception between 4PM-6PM for hors d'oeuvres and cocktails hosted by Mark Batchoun.
