Prada SS09

Prada's Spring/Summer 2009 collection definitely had some interesting pieces and Miuccia continues to draw upon a modernist aesthetic (which we saw in her fall/winter 2008 collection). Straps were incorporated into garments in order to suspend the garment on the wearer and shirt lengths were manipulated and explored this season with exaggerated and extended polo shirts and high midriff revealing cropped shirts. It is refreshing to see fashion that is "outside of the box" which challenges comfort levels without being messy or excessive. Although, this collection may not be for every man, the important factor is the dissemination of the ideas and the aesthetic which ultimately gets reinterpreted and reinvented.
