RIP Michael Jackson: August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009

Today we lost a true artist, visionary and icon. I remember Michael Jackson's Thriller being the first cassette that I ever bought and I listened to it so many times - it broke. Michael impacted music, fashion, and pop culture in so many ways and his contributions will truly be missed. RIP MJ we shall not forget.

I was hoping to see flashes of McQueen's SS 2010 collection, but it is just simply art. Perhaps this will be an installation at McQueen boutiques.......

Italian National Swim Team for Dolce & Gabbana Intimo Underwear '09

This is the new Summer '09 ad campaign for Dolce & Gabbana's Intimo underwear featuring the Italian National Swim Team, shot by Mariano Vivanco. The use of professional male athletes for underwear ad campaigns continues and it is interesting to see underwear fashion aesthetics being redefined by real hyper-masculine jocks, rather than by artificial pretty-boy models. These images and this ad campaign definitely speak to their target consumers and I have no doubt that many pairs of D&G Intimo underwear will be sold as a result of the impressions impacted by this ad campaign. Sexy athletic Italian nationalism used as an effective marketing strategy to sell underwear - clever.

Takashi Murakami Superflat First Love for Louis Vuitton

This is the full "Superflat First Love" short film by Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton. It features many of Murakami's Superflat characters and this short film clearly illustrates how visually creative this Japanese Pop artist is. I love everything about this video and it has simultaneously set a new standard for anime and taken anime to the next level. Visually stunning and so good (I'm speechless!) - check it!

These are images from the look book for the Jeremy Scott for Adidas Fall '09 collection. Jeremy Scott's signature style can easily be scene in the wild prints and interesting silhouettes. The cartoon print poncho, graphic tiger athletic suit, and leopard print drop crotch shorts all scream Jeremy. This collection is absolute Urban kitsch at its best and I secretly love it!

Sony PSP Go

Images of the new Sony PSP Go were leaked just before Sony's official announcement for the hand held console at the E3 Convention. Some of the new PSP Go features include a 3.8 inch display, 16GB of built-in flash storage, built-in Bluetooth, no UMD drive and full integration with the PS3. Sony is definitely ahead of the gaming pack with their stylish and high quality products. The slide out controller is innovative and it totally makes the PSP Go appear less like a console and more like a portable display. It hits stores this Fall.
